For this book, I focused on a concept that had a whimsical feel, drawing inspiration from Alice in Wonderland. The concept for the book started with a hummingbird icon I designed. Using the icon to create patterns, and other visual illusions, I wanted my story to feel like you were stepping into a dream. Throughout the story you see the curious hummingbird fluttering through each page as he goes along his journey. The color palette I chose was inspired by colors you would find in a garden. Each page makes you look closer, to see that things aren’t always what they seem.
